Usage Information & Policies

Currently, the Neilson Fieldhouse is only open to the members of our partner organizations which include Bemidji Girls Fastpitch Softball, Bemidji Youth League Baseball, and Bemidji Youth Soccer, as well as a few approved high school teams. We hope to open to the general public in late Spring 2026. Please check back for updates!

Prior to using the facility, participants must sign our liability waiver. Please download and sign the form below and either email it to bemidjiindoorsports@gmail.com or bring it to the Fieldhouse at your first visit. We will also have a limited amount of printed copies available on-site.

Welcome to the Neilson Fieldhouse. We are glad you are here! In order to ensure all guests may enjoy their time in a safe manner, we ask that everyone adhere to the following rules. Failure to do so may result in removal of guest from the turf and potentially facility itself.

The Neilson Fieldhouse is managed by the Bemidji Indoor Sports Commission, also known as BISC.

1.    Use of the Neilson Fieldhouse and the amenities within, are by reservation/rental only.

2.    Rental groups or individuals must provide a representative over the age of 18 on site throughout the duration of the rental to serve as the point of contact.

3.    Use of the facility is at the guest’s own risk. A liability waiver must be signed prior to using the facility and is good indefinitely unless otherwise notified. 

4.    Please report any injuries to bemidjiindoorsports@gmail.com immediately.

5.    In case of an emergency, call 911.

6.    There are no food or beverages, other that water, allowed in the arena area. Gum and shelled products are especially harmful to our turf fields. Only water can be brought into the arena but should be set along the walls to prevent spillage on the turf.

7.    Please notify staff of all spills immediately so we can thoroughly clean the turf to prevent staining or damage.

8.    No spitting.

9.    Alcoholic beverages are prohibited within the facility, unless pre-approved by BISC for a special event, in accordance to proper permitting with the City. Beverages must stay in the lobby area. Personal ice chests are not permitted inside the fieldhouse. Ice chests can be kept inside of vehicles in the parking lot.

10. Absolutely no glass containers of any kind.

11. Any major changes to the field or equipment layouts should be requested before an event. The rental group is not allowed to prepare fields for any event. If additional preparation is needed, BISC will perform the work at an additional cost.

12. We appreciate guests using personal music devices if headphones are also used. The Bluetooth sound system may be used for group events.

13. Painting on fields is not permitted by any rental group. All field markings will be done by BISC.

14. Do not drag goals and equipment. Always lift and carry.

15. No sharp objects such as tent stakes, corner flags, or other objects that can penetrate the surface of the field are allowed.

16. Do not intentionally kick or throw balls into the walls, windows, doors, ceiling, or handicap lift.

17. Soft toss (including plastic balls) is strictly prohibited against any of the walls.

18. Shirts and clean tennis shoes are required. Street shoes are not allowed on the turf.

19. Shoes with spikes are not permitted inside the Neilson Fieldhouse. Indoor tennis shoes only.

20. All accidents, breakage, or loss of Neilson Fieldhouse property must be reported to BISC immediately.

21. All maintenance issues should be reported to BISC.

22. BISC is not responsible for damage or loss incurred by the renter on site.

23. BISC is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

24. Disorderly conduct, or assault, will not be tolerated, and will result in immediate removal. Such actions include, but are not limited to, abusive, indecent, profane, or vulgar language that might cause a breach of peace: or threatening or causing physical contact with someone else who might consider the contact offensive.

25. Please help us keep our building clean. Please throw away all trash in provided receptacles. BISC volunteers will maintain restrooms, trash receptacles, and litter pick-up for all events.

26. Private vehicles may not be driven or parked on turf surfaces, sidewalks, service driveways or emergency zones.

27. Pets are not allowed.

28. BISC reserves the right to cancel any event or to restrict access to the fields due to an emergency, severe weather, vandalism, poor playing conditions or damage that could cause safety concerns.

29. The Neilson Fieldhouse rules and regulations listed here and posted at the fieldhouse shall be adhered to.

FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE FACILITY USE GUIDELINES MAY RESULT IN CANCELLATION WITHOUT REFUND.
